Sky Sports report this afternoon that Manchester United have identified Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino as their priority to take over at the end of the season.
The Premier League side, who this morning confirmed the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjær after yesterday’s 4-1 defeat to Watford, have placed former midfielder Michael Carrick in charge on a temporary basis.
Such a move would mark a return to the Premier League for the PSG man, who previously managed at Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Argentine arrived in Paris at the turn of the calendar year, taking over from Thomas Tuchel, and has presided over mixed results in the capital. Although Les Parisiens lost out on last year’s title to Christophe Galtier’s Lille, they are now comfortably top of Ligue 1, albeit for many remaining unconvincing in their style of play.
