According to an interview with Le Progrès, Lyon sporting director Vincent Ponsot has said that the club expect more of manager Peter Bosz, putting pressure on the Dutchman for better results before the World Cup break. Ponsot suggested the need for quicker results, and has fixed a time period in which he expects the manager to be performing at the expected level:
“He is aware of the situation as we will not wait until February or March – we have fixed a time period. We define a good coach by four ways: good results, good team performances, good integration into a club project and who makes the players progress. Peter meets the last two criteria. […] For the other two, he has a philosophy that should enable us to play well, and we need results. Here, we expect more from him, because we know he can meet the four criteria.”
Although Lyon are 5th in Ligue 1 with 13 points, they are still expecting a podium finish by the end of the season and Champions League football. They face Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday at home.
