Mumbai is currently submerged underwater and due to suspension of local train services a lot of people are stranded particularly nowhere in the city. As private weather forecasting agency Skymet said the rainfall may cross 150 mm in the next 24 hours, citizens are bracing for another day of gloomy skies and floods.

However, there are unsung heroes in Mumbai who make sure that the city comes back to functioning normally as soon as possible, helping the stranded and starving.
Railway staff
The railway workers, along with the Railway Police Force have to make sure that every train that passes through does not get affected by the rain, and the security of people is given more priority. According to a railway official, there are more than a thousand of these workers who work day in and day out, “especially during monsoons. About 2,000 of the staff can be counted if we include the RPF staff as security becomes a prime concern at this time.”
