There has been conflicting information reported regarding the possibility of a third Ladder match being added to WWE Money in the Bank in June, and below is a recap of what we know so far.
Beginning on WWE Raw last night, tag teams have been hyping the Money in the Bank ladder matches, with teams like The Ascension, Authors of Pain and Breezango revealing their goals to enter and win the match.
After the promos from the tag teams, speculation was that WWE might be adding a third ladder match to the PPV next month, featuring the tag teams of WWE vying for a tag title shot.
On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that if a third ladder match is indeed added it will be a tag team ladder match.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com then predicted on his Elite Audio program that a third ladder match would be added, before he closed the show by claiming sources informed him there has been no talk of doing a third match at the PPV.
Finally, Bryan Alvarez noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Live that a tag team ladder match is indeed being planned, however, WWE made the call to wait and announce the third match at a later date. Alvarez noted that with six weeks remaining until the Money in the Bank PPV, WWE made the decision to hold off on announcing the third ladder match and just announce the first two this week.
Backstage Note on the Raw Live Crowd
It might have appeared as if the WWE Raw live crowd in Long Island was distracted at times during the show, with odd chants taking place, such as “you deserve it” during the women’s triple threat match.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, there were numerous instances of beach balls being thrown around, and even a wedding proposal took place during Raw, which is why the audience’s attention appeared elsewhere during Raw.
