Some new, some not so new, all born or based in China — here’s Jing Daily’s brands to watch this year that, in our opinion, are destined to make a splash on the regional fashion scene.

Hong Kong-based eyewear brand Smith & Norbu, founded by Brussels-born Benoit Ams in 2009, offers high-end, handcrafted horn eyeglasses and sunglasses that use yak and buffalo horn from west and south China. Investing over five hours into each piece and putting no shortage of heart into packaging and style, Smith & Norbu revitalizes eyewear as an increasingly popular statement of style.

Founded in 2008 by Swedish designer David Ericsson, Hong Kong-based boutique watch brand VOID Watches creates both digital and analogue architecturally inspired timepiece gems, which can regularly be seen gracing the wrists of creatives in Asia and around the world. VOID also offers a collection of cool cufflinks and related accessories.

Rhoede
Hong Kong-based Rhoede epitomizes effective simplicity and modern minimalism in men’s underwear. Recently launching its first collection, Rhoede offers a pared-down line of four looks: briefs and trunks that come in either white or black, embodying precise craftsmanship, quality materials, and unique silhouettes. Rhoede is now available at KAPOK in Hong Kong.

STYLEVADER SPACE (SVS) is one of Shanghai’s newest menswear concept stores, founded by graphic designer and VJ Vader Yu. Calling itself a “one stop shop for independent fashion, art and music,” SVS offers cutting edge men’s designs in an ultra chic, futuristic space.
Celia B
Shanghai-based Spanish designer Celia B (Celia Bernardo) brings her colorful imagination to the female form with whimsical crochet wear, psychedelic prints, statement accessories, and even baby wear. Unveiling her first collection at a 10-day Christmas pop-up at Shanghai’s premium streetwear boutique The Source last year, Celia B has already made a bold impact on the Shanghai fashion scene, and we can’t wait to see more.
