China Fashion Week Launched This Week
As Jing Daily reported earlier this week, Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week S/S 2012 is currently in full swing, with 50 fashion brands and agencies, more than 40 fashion designers and 180 design graduates expected to take part in the 10-day event. So far, who have been some of the standouts among the dozens of designers taking part in China Fashion Week? Here are some of our picks:

Guo Baobao (郭宝宝)
Hangzhou-based designer Guo Baobao debuted his “August Silk” S/S 2012 collection this week at the Beijing Hotel. Following the theme of “Empty West” (西無), the collection interprets the concept of nothingness in design, coming across almost as a collision of New York and Hangzhou.

Yuan Bing (袁冰)
Beijing-based designer Yuan Bing’s “Romantic Seaside Garden” S/S 2012 collection, which made its debut this week at 751 D-Park, displays clean lines inspired by the beach. Heavy on 1980s-style nautical elements, the collection combines subtle nude tones, mellow pinks and rich blues, with floral and lace accents, adding a touch of mystery and romance to the season.
