Coming at the tail end of Shanghai Fashion Week and overlapping with Fashion Week in Beijing, recently Hong Kong’s I.T Group — owner of titular multi-brand boutiques I.T and i.t, as well as independent labels Izzue and b+ab — celebrated 10 years in the mainland China market with a runway show in Shanghai. Held at Taipingqiao Park in Xintiandi, the event was packed with company execs, local and Hong Kong celebrities, and artists, among them I.T Group president Shen Jiawei, actress Zhou Xun, Hong Kong actor/performer Shawn Yue, and former Miss World, Zhang Zilin.
Founded in 1988 specializing in distributing hard-to-find brands in Hong Kong before creating its own in-house labels, I.T has expanded at a rapid clip since entering mainland China in 2002. Since linking up with the Glorious Sun Group to expand into the mainland China market, I.T has opened over 200 points-of-sale nationwide, often stocking brands that shoppers in second- and third-tier cities would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.

Featuring four of China’s up-and-coming supermodels, Chen Bi-Ge (陈碧舸), Ji Lili (纪莉莉), Gao Guozhi (高国芝) and Hou Mengdie (候梦蝶), the runway show featured the newest collections by all four of the I.T Group’s boutique lines, starting with more youthful labels Izzue and b+ab, then moving on to multi-brand retailer i.t and its more high-end counterpart, I.T. Finishing up the runway show with a bang, I.T’s runway segment featured the likes of KENZO, Maison Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, Balenciaga, Comme des Garcons, and Dior Homme. Following up the fashion extravaganza came performances by the American LED dance troupe Team iLuminate and Japanese 2012 DMC World Team Champions DJs Kireek.
As I.T Group president Shen Jiawei said at the event, “In 10 years in the mainland China market, owing to a diversity of design and brand management, we’ve been standing at the cusp of fashion trends for the last decade and will even more in the future. We’ll continue to provide more young people with a unique place to pursue their individual fashion sense.”
