Flagships Include Guo Pei’s Xi China Wedding Boutique
Bund22
Last fall saw the inauguration of Bund22, a five-story, nearly 15,000 square meter lifestyle destination with a “Premium Tailored Services” concept, located in a distinctive historical building on the landmark Bund. Very much a world in itself, Bund22 brings together high-end boutiques, fashion events, international cuisine, and cultural and art spaces under one roof.
Going against the luxury megastore trend seen in high-traffic Shanghai shopping areas like Nanjing Road or at malls like Plaza 66, Bund22 is the culmination of a three-year renovation project on a 1906 English colonial building, modernizing the venue to create a highly personalized and tailored experience for jaded Shanghai shoppers.
Exclusive flagships at Bund22 include top Chinese designer Guo Pei‘s Xi China wedding boutique, British bridal couture label Adore, and artisan jewelers Xi Jewellery. But it’s not all about fashion. Joining other Bund hotspots like the Rockbund Art Museum and the Shanghai Gallery of Art, the fourth floor of Bund22 is dedicated to showcasing work from local and international artists. Topping it off, Bund22 includes several high-end restaurants and entertainment from the British circus-inspired Cirque du Soir.
Even in a city as accustomed to the best and brightest, Bund22 manages to stand out by catering to that lucrative but elusive demographic — the Shanghai sophisticate.
