Artist Huang Zhiyang Creates Exclusive Scarf Line For Etro Flagship In Beijing

Etro’s Largest China Flagship Opens In Beijing

This past weekend, the Italian fashion and lifestyle brand Etro launched its newest and largest China flagship at Beijing’s China World Mall (国贸商城). Operated by the Hong Kong multi-brand retailer JOYCE (previously on Jing Daily), the 350 square meter location carries Etro’s full men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and leathergoods lines. Outfitted with bold purple carpeting, dark wood paneling and black and copper accents, the look of Etro’s newest China location is consistent with other locations in Milan, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Dubai. To celebrate the grand opening, womenswear director Veronica Etro made her first trip to China, taking part in a cocktail party that also attracted Chinese notables like actress and socialite Chen Ran (陈燃), Miss World 2007 Zhang Zilin (张梓琳) and actress Qin Lan (秦岚).
To commemorate the new flagship, Etro created an exclusive scarf collection, available only at the Beijing location.Designed by Beijing-based Taiwanese contemporary artist Huang Zhiyang (黄致阳), the scarves, which invoke Huang’s trademark vibrant use of color, are available in cashmere for men and silk for women.

La Mer Opens Third Counter In Chengdu
The Estée Lauder-owned luxury cosmetics brand La Mer opened its third location in Chengdu, and 24th in China, last week at Chengdu’s Renhe Spring Department Store. Following a ribbon-cutting attended by talk show host Yan Qi (颜琪), staff members gave product demonstrations and showed guests around the new counter, which, like Etro’s location in Beijing, is outfitted in much the same way as other locations in North America and Europe.

Tory Burch Holds Holiday 2011 Media Preview At Beijing’s Shin Kong Place
This past weekend, the American brand Tory Burch held a media preview of its Holiday 2011 line at its Shin Kong Place boutique in Beijing. With pieces from the collection worn by by supermodel Huang Xiaomeng (黄晓萌) and others, the preview attracted local media and local celebrities like actress Lin Peng (林鹏). The first Tory Burch boutique in mainland China, the Shin Kong Place location opened to great fanfare in May. Since then, the brand has launched a second location at Tianjin’s Florentia Village outlets, adding to the two stores it operates in Hong Kong.
