NXT News: Moon Removed From Takeover, Bate’s Opponent, Dillinger

WWE began taping new episodes of its UK Championship series on the WWE Network from Norwich, England over the weekend. It had also been announced earlier in the week that Tyler Bate would be defending the United Kingdom Championship at NXT Takeover: Chicago, but his opponent for the event was not revealed. Later on, however, Pete Dunne defeated Trent Seven to become number one contender for the title. Though the match will not be airing until later this month, WWE has already announced the result on their social media pages. The next NXT Takeover show will take place in Chicago, Illinois on May 20th.
Ember Moon has been officially removed from her match at Takeover. She had seemingly injured herself on NXT recently during a battle royal to determine the number one contender to Asuka’s title. Though the injury appeared to be legitimate, and photos of Moon with her arm in a sling surfaced online afterwards, WWE had not officially removed Moon from her match at Takeover. WWE was apparently hopeful that the injury would be healed by the time Takeover came around later this month. Now that Moon will be unable to compete, WWE will likely find a way to change the fatal 4-way match that she is scheduled to be in to a triple threat, but an official announcement will be made on NXT this Wednesday. Moon suffered a ‘grade one shoulder sprain’ and will be out for around 4-5 Weeks
Despite bidding NXT farewell a few weeks ago after defeating Eric Young in a steel cage match, as well as at a live event with the Revival and Shinsuke Nakamura in the ring with him. Tye Dillinger was still touring with NXT up until May 6th. During the show in San Diego, Dillinger said his goodbyes to the NXT crowd yet again. This time it is believed that “the Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger is officially done with the NXT brand and will continue working on Smackdown. He mentioned that his plan is to go after Kevin Owens and his United States Championship. The crowd in California chanted “ten’ as Dillinger passed through the NXT curtain for the final time.
