In addition to new WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins, WWE.com confirmed six more names that will be joining Raw’s upcoming cruiserweight division when it launches next Monday night.
Brian Kendrick, Rich Swann, Gran Metalik, Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado, and Noam Dar are all headed to the Raw roster. But WWE didn’t reveal which wrestlers will be in action when the revamped cruiserweight division launches next Monday.
Notably, the list seems to indicate that Akira Tozawa, Jack Gallagher, Johnny Gargano, and Tommaso Ciampa won’t be headed to Raw immediately. All four were featured in videos hyping the division in previous weeks. Lince Dorado wasn’t included in those videos, but will apparently be joining the division right away.
After winning the Cruiserweight Classic, Perkins became the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion on Wednesday night. He first defeated tournament favorite Kota Ibushi in the semifinals, then scored a victory over Gran Metalik in the tournament final. Before that match started, Triple H came out to announce that the match would be for the Cruiserweight Championship and unveiled the new title.
