The two-time defending NCAA Division II national champion St. Cloud State University wrestling team will be recognized for their achievements during a pre-game ceremony at the Minnesota Twins game on Thursday, June 23. The Twins will be playing the Philadelphia Phillies at Target Field in Minneapolis and the game time is scheduled for 12:10 p.m.
The pre-game ceremony will include an on-field introduction of the team at Target Field and it will also feature an honorary first pitch of the game by Huskies’ head coach Steve Costanzo.
The SCSU wrestling team will be seated in Section 123 during the game and Huskies’ fans can purchase tickets for the Twins-Phillies game that day at twinsbaseball.com or by calling 612-33-TWINS.
St. Cloud State won its second consecutive NCAA Division II national title in 2015-16 while charting a 16-1 overall record and a perfect 8-0 record in the always rugged NSIC. The Huskies have won five consecutive NSIC championships under the direction of coach Costanzo, who was named the DII Coach of the Year in 2016. SCSU also earned seven All-America awards this season along with a national championship by Brett Velasquez at 125-pounds.
