Fishermen from all the coasts of India often face difficulties in navigating, especially during times before a storm or during foggy weather. This has caused a greater trouble – crossing the borders unknowingly into another country’s territory.
Isro chairman K Sivan said that Isro is now actively working on 158 projects, 120 of them at a fast pace, especially on projects to create a navigation system with GPS for the fishermen so they can come back to the shores safely.
At a felicitation function at his native Sarakkal Vilai village in Kanyakumari district, Sivan, now the top man in the space research organisation, said 42 Indian satellites are in space and that at least 45 more were needed.
