Few would have predicted just a short month ago that Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford would prove England’s hero on their march towards the World Cup semi finals.
But the goalkeeper has come up with one stunning save after another to keep his side moving, form he continued against Sweden on Saturday.
Having pulled off what was arguably the stop of the World Cup to deny Colombia, the 24-year-old came up big with two more to keep the Scandinavians at bay and preserve a 2-0 lead.
Goals from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli had moved the Three Lions into their first World Cup semi-final appearance since 1990.
