On loan from Manchester United, Eric Bailly remains an absentee for Olympique de Marseille for their home game against Rennes on Sunday.
L’Équipe report that the Ivorian defender will miss the action against Rennes due to a thigh injury. He is not the only one on the treatment table for OM, with Samuel Gigot, who sustained a muscle problem against Lille, also remaining on the sideline. Igor Tudor is thus expected to make some tweaks in the team’s defence.
However, there are some positive news for Tudor’s men ahead of the weekend’s fixture, with Mattéo Guendouzi and Bamba Dieng edging toward a return to the matchday squad. The report also suggests that Guendouzi could directly make starting XI for the hosts.
After his failed transfer to Nice on the deadline day, Bamba Dieng has not been seen around the team sheet. Nevertheless, as per the claims, the forward could make his return to the squad for the game against Rennes.

In what could be a boost in OM’s defence, Chancel Mbemba has regained his full fitness and should be back in the team for the clash on Sunday.
