In today’s press conference ahead of the match against Metz this weekend, Marseille defender Duje Ćaleta-Car notably spoke about his future and insisted he was concentrating on the rest of the season with OM.
His words transcribed in RMC Sport, the Croatian expressed his frustration at the focus being on rumours of a move away – with this January again seeing his name linked to several English sides.
“On the subject of my future, I don’t know. Three parties are needed in order to reach an agreement, and that wasn’t the case. The summer is in a long time. There is a lot of work left to do with Marseille. I am here. I’m going to give it all to keep that second place and qualify for the Champions League. I know that my name will come up again in the next transfer window, but I don’t want to think about it. I would be really disappointed if I left Marseille without winning anything.”
“Every transfer window, I’m the one who’s getting it. I’ve heard, “He’s going to leave”, “The club doesn’t want him”, I’m already tired by all this news. I’m still here, I’m really happy to be at the club. I’ve had interesting offers which didn’t go through. If other opportunities come up, we will see. We don’t know what the future holds. I am a player who is under contract at OM.”
