RMC Sport report today that Paris Saint-Germain club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has arrived in Paris in order to wrap up the deal to bring Nice manager Christophe Galtier to the capital, as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement.
The president is also back in the French capital ahead of the Argentine’s departure, with several details left to be ironed out before him and his coaching staff leave the club. An agreement in principle is nevertheless in place over what is expected to be a payout of at least €15m for the final year of his contract.
As reported by L’Équipe and Fabrice Hawkins, Nice and PSG are closing in on an agreement that will see the champions pay €10m in compensation for the final two years of Galtier’s contract with Les Aiglons. Discussions are nevertheless said to be ongoing.
PSG will want to complete Galtier’s arrival before pre-season starts on July 4, as well as being able to start work on their summer transfer window. Despite the owners’ attempts at bringing in Zinédine Zidane, Al-Khelaifi is supportive of new sporting advisor Luis Campos and his decision to move for Galtier, with whom he worked at Lille, a partnership which led to a league title.
