Although neither club has disclosed the transfer fee, L’Équipe had earlier reported that the clubs had agreed on a deal of around €10m. In a press release, Troyes revealed that the sum received was a “club record.”
Former AS Monaco academy product Biancone, who made his Champions League debut with the side in 2018, appeared 31 times for Troyes in Ligue 1 last season, assisted two goals and scored once. He is a versatile player, who whilst being most comfortable at right-back, can play all along the back-line as well as in midfield.
Speaking in a Nottingham Forest press release, Biancone said, “I am very happy to arrive at a club like Nottingham Forest after a good experience with my former club Troyes. I know it’s a big club, known across Europe and I’m very excited to be joining the club, with it’s great fanbase and history.”
In a Troyes press release, Biancone thanked the club. “I have had an exceptional experience at Troyes. I thank the club, the staff, and my teammates, for trusting in me and for allowing me to show my qualities in a perfect environment. I have always dreamt of playing in the Premier League. It is a unique opportunity that I can’t refuse and I thank Troyes for understanding that. I was to particularly thank the supporters, with whom I created a strong link. I have always given everything for them and for the shirt. I hope they too will understand my choice,” he said.
