Ligue 1’s second-placed RC Lens have announced the contract extension of Colombian wing-back Deiver Machado (29). The former Toulouse and Gent player has put pen to paper on a new deal, which is due to expire in 2026. The northern side have been busy this January transfer window in extending the deals of several mainstays such as strikers Florian Sotoca and Wesley SaΓ―d, as well as defender Facundo Medina. Lens have also signed underrated and reliable Strasbourg midfielder Adrien Thomasson this month.

Machado joined Lens from Toulouse 18 months ago on a β¬1.2m fee and has proven instrumental with Les Sang et Or. No Lens players wins more balls than the all-action Colombian wing-back. He has played seventeen Ligue 1 games out of a possible twenty this year with Franck Haise’s free-flowing side. Lens will host Ineos-owned Nice this Wednesday for Ligue 1 gameweek 21, having won every home league game this season.
