The rating for this week’s Raw saw quite the benefit from the promotion that Roman Reigns’ return garnered. Monday’s episode brought in a 1.02 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 2.922 million viewers. Those numbers are up 6% and 5% from last week’s 0.96 demo rating and 2.771 million viewers, which was itself a sizable jump. All of that adds up to mean that this week’s episode was the highest-rated and highest-viewed since the August 20th, 2018 episode had a 1.07 rating and an audience of 3.096 million.
Obviously, the return of Reigns was a big factor, as it was promoted throughout the end of last week into Monday, and considering his cancer diagnosis interest was high in what he would say. Predictably, the 8 PM was the highest hour (although to be fair, that’s nothing new). The good news for WWE is that retention was better throughout the show; compared to last week the opening hour was up only 0.01, while the 9 PM and 10 PM hours were up 0.7 and 0.8. That means that Raw managed to hold onto more of its audience this week than last week.
Raw ranked #1 among cable originals for the night per Showbuzz Daily, beating out Love & Hip-Hop (0.62 demo rating, 1.258 million viewers). The hourly numbers were:
8 PM: 1.09 demo rating (3.167 million viewers)
9 PM: 1.04 demo rating (2.952 million viewers)
10 PM: 0.92 demo rating (2.648 million viewers)
