Manchester City vs Norwich City: Betting odds, tips, predictions & team news

Posted on December 31, 2021 by FASHIONISLANDBLOG

class=”article_teaser__2t5do”>The Blues are well fancied to clearly beat their newly-promoted opponents and Goal is backing a high-scoring home win on Saturday in Manchester

Manchester City welcome Norwich City to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Pep Guardiola’s men look for their first points of the Premier League season.

The defending champions were beaten on their trip to Tottenham last weekend, although the Blues are overwhelming favourites to claim three points on Saturday against the newly-promoted Canaries.

Manchester City vs Norwich City latest odds

The last meeting between these two sides in Manchester saw City run out 5-0 winners in the 2019-20 season and another victory can be backed at 1/12 (1.08) with bet365.

Norwich are priced at 25/1 (26.00) to claim their first Premier League win since February 2020, with the draw offered at 10/1 (11.00) .

Manchester City vs Norwich City team news

City are still without Phil Foden, although they should have Ilkay Gundogan available despite the former Borussia Dortmund player suffering a shoulder injury last week.

Gundogan has trained as normal and should be available.

Norwich, meanwhile, are without Przemyslaw Placheta and Sam Byram while Onel Hernandez and Jordan Hugill are rated as 50/50.

Manchester City vs Norwich City preview

The defending champions could not have hand-picked a better match from which to bounce back from the disappointment of last week’s defeat.

Norwich were roundly beaten 3-0 by Liverpool in their opening clash and the Canaries’ daunting start to the new campaign is likely to go from bad to worse.

City were ominous in their own stadium last term, scoring 43 goals in 19 games, and Guardiola’s men should be able to rack up the goals against one of the division’s weakest-looking sides.

The Blues scored more than three goals at home in the 2020-21 season against Burnley, Crystal Palace, Everton, Wolves and Southampton and another high-scoring home win looks on the cards this weekend.

Manchester City vs Norwich City tips & predictions

The hosts can be backed at 11/8 (2.38) to win and score over 3.5 goals which looks like a good way to get City onside in an extremely one-sided market.

City to win and over 3.5 goals in the game could also appeal at 10/11 (1.91) .
