Former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Laurel Van Ness recently spoke with The Hannibal TV on why she decided to leave Impact Wrestling while she was Champion, her decision to return to the independent scene and more. You can listen to the brief interview in the video above, and below is a quote from Van Ness:
“At this point, WWE isn’t on my radar anymore”, said Van Ness. “[Leaving Impact] was just a personal decision. I am someone who wants to set new goals and accomplish new things, and I felt that I had kinda ran my course in Impact at this time, not saying that I would never go back because I love the locker room and the friends that I’ve made there. But, at this point in my life, I need to keep taking the steps up the ladder and kind of expanding my horizons and things like that. So the next step was to go back out to the indies.”
Van Ness added that she did not leave the company with any hard feelings, and misses the TV taping aspect of Impact Wrestling and the friends that she made there. Van Ness also touches briefly on Lucha Underground and whether or not that might be a possibility for her.
