Another episode of NXT is in the books and WWE’s developmental brand brought the excitement as always. The program kicked off with The Undisputed Era’s Bobby Fish versus EC3. Fish was accompanied to the ring by his teammates, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong.
Cole cut a promo before the match began, predicting that 2019 will see all four men “draped in championship gold.” But even though Fish brought everything he had to his match with Carter, Fish came up on the losing end. The Undisputed Era attacked EC3 after the bout but the “Top One Percent” was saved by Heavy Machinery.

Up next was a backstage interview with Dakota Kai and Io Shirai. The two spoke about The Four Horsewomen’s constant attacks on their friend, the former NXT Women’s champion, Kairi Sane. Kai and Shirai challenged Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir to a tag team match for the December 19 edition of NXT.
The Mighty stepped into the ring against Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch in the next match. This one was hard-hitting and high impact, just as fans have come to expect from both teams. Every time they go to war, they bring maximum effort to entertain the crowd. Whether or not this feud is over remains to be seen.
Winners: Lorcan and Burch

Up next is a promo from Johnny Gargano. Johnny Wrestling talked about his rivalry with former NXT champion Aleister Black, including their upcoming steel cage match. Gargano promised to close the book on Black.
Three of The Four Horsewomen were interviewed backstage. Shafir and Duke laughed off the challenge from Io Shirai and Dakota Kai, but Shayna Baszler accepted on their behalf. All three women were extremely confident and did not seem bothered by the upcoming match.

Mia Yim faced off against Reina González in the next match. The highly popular Yim took the fight to the rowdy Texan but Reina soon took control of the bout. She kept the upper hand for the majority of the match. But in the end, it was Mia Yim who stood victorious. With this win, Yim qualified for the Fatal 4-Way match to determine Baszler’s next challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Winner: Mia Yim
Aleister Black cuts a promo in response to Gargano’s words from earlier. Black says he doesn’t feel anything about their upcoming steel cage match. Aleister goes on to say that Gargano will not be able to run or escape, that he will simply fade to black.
NXT North American champion Ricochet is up next in a match against a mystery opponent. Ricochet wanted some competition and that’s exactly what he got on this night when Tyler Breeze made his surprising return to NXT. Prince Pretty received a great ovation from the crowd that once watched him during the birth of his WWE career.
