Last Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank PPV featured two key women’s matches, with Alexa Bliss emerging victorious in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, then cashing-in her contract after interrupting the second key women’s match of the night in Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was rehearsed in Orlando at the Performance Center, with Tyson Kidd and Fit Finlay in charge of putting the match together. Kidd was most responsible for putting together the bout, which was rehearsed over the course of several days as the women were pulled from WWE live events in order to stage the match.
In related news, the Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax match was also said to be completely rehearsed and planned ahead of time, as company officials did not want Rousey to work a normal style match, which would typically see the match called inside the ring, since it was her first-ever singles bout. The Rousey vs Jax match was put together by Fit Finlay.
As seen on the PPV, Bliss ended up cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on the same night as she won it, making her cash-in the third fastest of all-time, with Dean Ambrose and Kane above her.
The next night on Raw, Bliss was attacked by Ronda Rousey, who then attacked Kurt Angle, resulting in a thirty-day storyline suspension for Rousey, enabling her to return to WWE TV on July 18th. In the meantime, Rousey will continue to make her scheduled WWE live event appearances.
