— SmackDown star Funaki is officially going under the name “Kung Fu Naki.” WWE.com has changed all references to his name in his profile to reflect his new ring name. You can see his profile at the following link. On last week’s edition of SmackDown, Funaki was nicknamed “Kung Fu Naki” in a backstage segment with R-Truth. On last night’s show, Funaki appeared in a karate outfit in a backstage segment with Vickie Guerrero and Big Show.
— WWE developmental wrestler Naofumi Yamamoto made his Florida Championship Wrestling debut at this past Thursday’s television taping. He lost to Jack Gabriel, reports PWInsider.com. The fomer NJPW wrestler simply went under the name Yamamoto in his debut. An Associated Press article regarding his signing with WWE was actually put out. You can read it at this link.
— An unreleased photo of former WWE Diva Cherry from her “Summer Skin” photo shoot for WWE.com has leaked online. You can see the photo at this link. Cherry was released from her WWE contract on August 15, 2008, a little more than a week before her “Summer Skin” photos were scheduled to be posted on the WWE site. In the shoot’s place, WWE.com posted a compilation of photos of the Divas and Cherry’s name was quietly removed from the subsite.
