WWE has confirmed when their next pay-per-view will be taking place.
A video aired during Backlash tonight officially confirming that Extreme Rules 2020 will stream live on the WWE Network on Sunday, July 19. Like with Money in the Bank and Backlash, the location for the show wasn’t announced.
A new logo for Extreme Rules with a purple and green color scheme was also unveiled.
It was originally revealed in February that the SAP Center in San Jose, California would be hosting Extreme Rules on July 19. The SAP Center has yet to officially announce that the PPV isn’t taking place there.
This will be the fourth WWE PPV to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Backlash tonight was the first of those with NXT/Performance Center wrestlers in the crowd as fans.
Last year’s Extreme Rules event took place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was headlined by Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch defeating Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans in an extreme rules match with the Universal Championship and Raw Women’s Championship both on the line. Brock Lesnar then cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase after the match and defeated Rollins.
