Donald Trump has faced questions over whether he broke election campaign finance laws after he confirmed he paid a porn star to keep quiet over an alleged affair.
The US president confirmed he had reimbursed his lawyer Michael Cohen for the payment – which he had previously denied – but insisted the payment was legal.
It came after Mr Trump’s new White House lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, revealed on Wednesday evening that the money had been "funnelled… through the law firm and the president repaid it."
Porn star Stephanie Clifford – who goes by the stage name Stormy Daniels – claims she had an affair with Mr Trump in 2006, something the president denies.
