WWE fans were absolutely elated when Becky Lynch won the women’s Royal Rumble match last month. Ever since Becky Lynch began her ascent in popularity as “The Man,” one of the most anticipated matches in the company has been Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey. It did not take long for Lynch to challenge Rousey to a match at WrestleMania 35, and the bout is even heavily rumored to be the main event of WrestleMania 35. If this is true, it would mark the first time in history that WrestleMania has been headlined by a women’s match. However, there are several WWE fans who remain fearful that SmackDown’s Charlotte Flair could be added to the match, thus making it a Triple Threat match for the Raw Women’s Championship.
There have been reports from the Wrestling Observer claiming that WWE is still planning on turning the match into a 3-way bout, and Ringside News is now reporting the same story. According to the Ringside report, one of the reasons why WWE is insisting on adding Flair to the match is because the company wants there to be two women in the match who will remain with WWE after WrestleMania 35 comes to an end. Ronda Rousey is rumored to be taking a hiatus of sorts from wrestling after the event. The report does not that the plan still calls for the match to serve as the final match on the WrestleMania card. Fan can expect to see Charlotte Flair be inserted into the Rousey vs. Lynch match at some point very soon.
A couple of trademark disputes have been occurring lately between WWE and other companies. WWE has been submitting requests to trademark certain WCW phrases like “Halloween Havoc” recently because they have noticed that other companies have been using the terms. Meanwhile, PWInsider has just reported that WWE has filed a trademark for “Then, Now, Forever,” a term WWE viewers have gotten used to seeing over the years. It was filed on February 4th, just one day after the same phrase was used by CBS. The broadcast network used the term for some of the coverage of the NFL’s Super Bowl game. WWE uses the “Then, Now, Forever” phrase in a lot of their programming these days and have done so since 2012.
