The 17th round of PlusLiga came to an end. Despite the victories of the favorites, games brought expected emotions. Skra Belchatow won again and secured the first place in the standings before the play-off round. The second one was confirmed by ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Kozle.
In the first match, Asseco Resovia came to Bydgoszcz, hoping to gain valuable three points, but they did not manage. Bydgoszcz, directed by Stephane Antiga, won two points and overtook Jastrzebie in standings. Antiga played the best game this season. Having got 25 points (76% efficiency in attack, 2 blocks, 1 ace), he became the best scorer of this round and was chosen the MVP of the game. Resovia was not presenting good level of play, although they were favorite and by the fact, the semi-finalists of the CEV Cup lost a chance to finish the main PlusLiga phase on 2nd position.
Despite the absence of 6 players, (Rouzier, Samica, Gladyr, Czarnowski, Swiderski and Warda) Kędzierzyn won 3-0 in the field of Jastrzebski Węgiel. Moreover, the team of Bernardi was supported by Michal Lasko and Zbigniew Bartman who were treating their injuries. The representative of Italy presented very weak because he committed many mistakes and achieved 37% in attack. Just like Bartman who scored only 3 points (30%). Even his new hairstyle did not helped him to play better. Michal Ruciak received the MVP award. – I am particularly pleased with this match. We won 3-0 on rough terrain, to be honest I did not predict this result before this metch. We played really with character, we can say that the more trouble you have, the stronger the show. Such an attitude on the pitch and training can only congratulate my boys – Krzysztof Stelmach said on a press conference.
