On Saturday, WWE announced that Stephanie McMahon invited Becky Lynch to appear on RAW again this week after The Man made a cameo after The Royal Rumble to declare that she would challenge RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania.
Interestingly enough, Lynch gave an interview with Digital Spy in October where she stated she would like to face Stephanie McMahon in a match one day. Since the Fastlane pay-per-view in March is already advertising a match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, it would seem unlikely those two would also wrestle each other at Elimination Chamber on March 17 at the Toyota Center in Houston. It’s important to note cards are subject to change and WWE has been taking some heat for advertising stars they knew had no intention of appearing in events lately.
Though WWE could certainly schedule Lynch-Flair matches for both of the next pay-per-view shows, that rivalry might tread into stale territory if it’s the sole storyline for Lynch over the course of the next 10 weeks before getting Rousey or perhaps Rousey and Flair at WrestleMania. Might WWE throw a swerve and have Lynch and McMahon do a one-off match at Elimination Chamber?
Here is what Becky told Digital Spy back in October concerning Stephanie McMahon:
“I would love to step in the ring with Stephanie McMahon – she’s an incredible woman and amazing at what she does in how she can get the attention of the audience.
Obviously, we will likely have to wait until RAW airs live Monday from Moda Center in Portland to learn more about the nature of Lynch’s appearance.
