WWE announced yesterday that they decided to release Emma from her contract. Emma had been working on the Raw brand, and she recently put over in Asuka in her first two matches on the main roster. Emma had been working for WWE for several years now, so when the news of her release was announced, several personalities in the wrestling industry voiced their opinions on the situation and what they thought of Emma. Emma herself responded to the news by letting everyone know how disappointed she was. She posted a single emoji of a broken heart on her Twitter account shortly after the news of her WWE departure broke.

As mentioned, Emma worked in WWE for multiple years, and a ton of her friends and peers let her know how talented she is despite her release from the company. Wrestlers and reporters from all over have commented on Emma’s departure with several feeling as though the company made a mistake by choosing to get rid of her. One of Emma’s closest friends in the business, Paige, posted a few very uplifting messages on social media, including one wherein she credited Emma for starting the Women’s Revolution in WWE. Several wrestlers in the business seem to treasure their time with Emma, and it looks like she will definitely be missed by most of the WWE Superstars.

Never a good time for talent & their families when they’ve been released. On the bright side this is the BEST market in ages for free agents

One wrestler has gained a ton of negative attention due to some messages that he posted in relation to Emma’s sudden release from the company. Lio Rush joked on Twitter that Emma was released from the company because she was “truly not ready for Asuka,” which is in reference to the fact that Emma’s final match in WWE was a match that saw her lose to Asuka on Raw last Monday. Several wrestlers in the business called out Rush for his post with most feeling that it was insensitive. He later posted an apology to Emma on Twitter that some in the business were still not very impressed with. The original tweet has since been deleted, but multiple fans took a screenshot of it beforehand.

Maybe we should cut @itsLioRush some slack. He made a mistake. He feels terrible about it. He sincerely apologized. He’s human. Thanks.

Apologising because people didn’t like your joke, not for joking about someone losing their job. Also, try the English classes at the PC. ?? https://t.co/tZnaDzqB5K

Is an apology really an apology if you say “I’m sorry it got blown out of proportion”? Is it a case of being “young and dumb”? No and no.
— Kevin Kelly (@realkevinkelly) October 29, 2017
Without people like @EmmaWWE & the hard work everyone put in to the foundation of NXT, Lio Rush wouldn’t have the platform he does now.

Reading that made my brain melt. Good luck. You’re going to need it.
