It was recently reported that Bobby Fish suffered a knee injury during a match at a recent NXT live event. Despite the fact that he was helped to the back, he appeared at Wednesday’s NXT television tapings, and he is still confirmed to defend the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT Takeover: New Orleans this April. Unfortunately, his injury has not gotten any better since then. In fact, the Wrestling Observer reports that Fish had surgery in Alabama to fix MCL and ACL tears this past Thursday. Bobby Fish is now expected to miss six months of action from the ring. Spoilers on how the NXT Tag Team Championship situation was addressed during Wednesday’s tapings can be found here.
The Ultimate Deletion match between Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy still has no confirmed air date at the moment, but it is expected to air on WWE programming at some point very soon. It was reported that all of the material for the unique match was shot by WWE cameras at the Hardy Compound yesterday. PWInsider has provided a few behind the scenes updates on the filming for the match. It was noted that Jeremy Borash (a former Impact Wrestling producer responsible for filming a great deal of the original “Broken Universe” segments) was at Hardy’s home yesterday working on the match. Shawn Bennett will be the referee for the match, but other than that, it sounds like no other WWE talents were used for the match.
Ever since Triple H took full control of 205 Live, the show has been completely revamped to focus on the action and the ongoing Cruiserweight Championship tournament. After bringing up the likes of Roderick Strong and Bubby Murphy, General Manager Drake Maverick has teased that several more members of the NXT roster could be joining the cruiserweight division soon. Sure enough, the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Lio Rush and Ricochet could both be on their way to 205 Live very soon. Both men are still newcomers to WWE, but they have both demonstrated in the past that they are two of the most athletic and entertaining wrestlers on the planet today.
