The Kumbh Mela, hailed as the largest congregation of Hindu pilgrims is being held in the historic city of Prayagraj. The festival, that began on January 15 (Makar Sankranti) will go on till March 4 (Mahashivratri).
The event witnesses a mass gathering of devotees who come to the historic city from every corner of the country to take a holy dip in the confluence of three rivers – Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
Interestingly, it is not just the holy dip that is the prime attraction for visitors. The Kumbh Mela is also a colossal gathering of culture and art. It’s the first time that Kinnar Akhara has participated in the grand Mela.
