Cancer is slowly becoming a global threat and if a new study is to be believed, more than 1.5 crore people will need chemotherapy globally each year by 2040. Around one lakh cancer physicians will be required to treat the growing number of cancer patients mostly in low and middle-income countries.
From 2018 to 2040, the number of patients needing chemotherapy each year will rise by 53 per cent from 9.8 million to 15 million worldwide, suggests a study published in the Lancet Oncology journal.
