320 Square Meter, Split-Floor Boutique Includes Women’s Collections, Watches And Jewelry Sections
Ralph Lauren at the Peninsula, Hong Kong
Amid its ongoing China expansion, Ralph Lauren recently opened a new 320 square meter boutique at Hong Kong’s Peninsula Hotel, which also marks the Asian debut of the label’s watch and jewelry gallery. The Peninsula location will specialize in Ralph Lauren’s premium lines, most notably the Ralph Lauren Collection and Black Label collection, as well as the label’s full line of accessories and footwear. Sporting the same Beaux-Arts vibe as newer Ralph Lauren flagships in New York, Paris and elsewhere, behind its black iron and glass storefront the new Hong Kong boutique’s interior maintains a monochrome design scheme, with off-white walls blending into French limestone tiles.
Although the premium womenswear collections will likely be a draw for many of Hong Kong’s fashion-savvy shoppers, Ralph Lauren has shown a keen understanding of the Hong Kong market by choosing this location as its first Asian watch and jewelry gallery. Owing to its duty-free retail market and proximity to mainland China, Hong Kong is the go-to destination for mainland Chinese watch buyers, some of whom have been known to buy dozens of timepieces in one trip. In addition to some rare lines, the Ralph Lauren watch gallery stocks models like the Ralph Lauren Stirrup, Slim Classique and Sporting chronograph.
