Last week, Jing Daily took part in a Shanghai gala dinner and launch party marking the launch of the Swarovski Elements “Sparkling Contrasts” capsule footwear collection. For the collection, Swarovski invited 13 high-profile footwear designers and studios to each create two pairs of contrasting yet complementary shoes, presenting the designs as one-of-a-kind works of wearable art ranging from the punk-inspired to the avant-garde. Included in the collection are some of the world’s leading footwear designers, among them Beatrix Ong, Cesare Casadei, Charlotte Olympia, Gio Diev, Jerome C. Rousseau, Neorhythm, Maison des Talons, René Caovilla, Repetto, Robert Clergerie, Rupert Sanderson, Ruthie Davis and Alejandro Ingelmo.
At the event, held at Andaz Hotel Shanghai, guests were ushered through the exhibition on a guided tour, after which came a memorable dinner spiced up with a shoe parade and dance performance.
