Following up his collaboration with the Chinese video artist Yi Zhou on an exhibition of work by nine young Chinese designers in New York last September, Nicola Formichetti (best known as Lady Gaga’s stylist) is set to launch a collaborative pop-up shop with the Hong Kong retailer Lane Crawford in its native city and in Beijing next month. As the LC Insider recently noted, putting a playful spin on Gaga costumes from his creative archives, Formichetti’s “NicoPanda” shop will feature a range of limited-edition NicoPanda products including t-shirts, iPad cases, Moleskine notebooks, umbrellas and even mahjong sets.
Keep an eye on Jing Daily’s Facebook page for more information as it comes in. Considering how interesting other recent pop-up shops in Hong Kong have been — from the “Museum” launched at the Landmark last year by Scottish design and retail brand CONTEXT to Shanghai Tang’s “Mongolian Village” atop Central Ferry Pier 4 and the British Fashion Council’s LONDON show ROOMS exhibition — this should be a must-see.
