Following up the launch last month of the sprawling “Maison Canton Road” location in Hong Kong, this week the French leather and luxury goods maker Longchamp cut the ribbon on its newest mainland China location at Nanjing’s Deji Plaza mall. Attended by popular actress Gao Yuanyuan, making her first Mainland appearance as Longchamp brand ambassador, the newest boutique in Nanjing is the company’s eighth in mainland China, adding to the eight it currently operates in Hong Kong.
Designed by architect Eric Carlson, the new Nanjing location, like the recent Hong Kong Maison, fits with the brand’s global store concept, which was first rolled out in 2010.
According to Longchamp chief executive Jean Cassegrain, his company has no intention to slow its Asia expansion, with plans to open a total of 40 to 50 locations in China over the long-term.
