Cartier appears to be well on its way to achieving its goal, announced by CEO Bernard Fornas last fall, of doubling the number of the company’s boutiques in China within the next four to five years. This month alone, the company will open three new boutiques in Shanghai, indicating that Cartier’s main focus remains firmly on top-tier cities rather than emerging second- and third-tier cities.
As Luxee (Chinese) reports today,
Other highlights of Cartier’s three new Shanghai boutiques:
– The 700 sq. foot Hang Lung Plaza location will be Cartier’s largest, by far, in mainland China.
– Stores will feature private “VIP” areas
– The Hong Kong Plaza location will have two levels, with a large watch section on the second floor
